Ponies Through History (1)

The Trojan Horse
A long, long time ago there was a battle between the Greeks and the Trojans. The Greeks decided that they would trick the Trojans by giving them a 'present' of a horse. The horse was in fact filled with Greek ponies.

The battles between the Greeks and the Trojans were bloody and led to many losses on both sides. This is one reason why Greek ponies are so rare.

King Alfred and the Cakes
In the Middle Ages in Britain, King Alfred was fighting a war against the invading Vikings. He was given shelter by a kind woman who asked him to watch her cakes while she went to market.

Alfred became absorbed by his battle plans, and the cakes were burnt. The woman was very cross, and bashed Alfred on the head with a rolling pin (wiffle bats had not yet been invented). Hasbro decided the kitchen was too dangerous to market internationally.
