The Where Are They Now? Competition
Yay! This competition has now closed. You can see the winners
and all the entries, though - they're
great!! I've left this up as I plan to run this competition again at some
point - it was such fun!
Note: I have received several queries asking whether products other
than sweets (candy) are allowed. Yes! The stranger the better!
Here at the MLP Rescue Centre, I'm getting very excited about International
Pony Day, which falls on August 2nd 2001.
In fact, I'm so excited that I thought I'd do something to celebrate
IPD right here at the Rescue Centre.
I love competitions, and being in the UK allows me to offer prizes
that hopefully will inspire people to join in!
The
competition was inspired by a tube of Bonne Bell Cotton Candy Lip Smacker.
I saw it in Superdrug, and had to buy it. "How perfect," I thought. "Cotton
Candy has mixed her love of sweet things and pink into a product that
will bring happiness to pony fans the world over."
Then I began noticing other products in shops. Cadbury's Buttons, Milky
Way Magic Stars (wow, two pony names in one product - cool!)...
"Hey", I thought to myself. "The ponies have followed
up their '80s status as popular toys and are exploiting their fame by
endorsing cult products!"
Further investigation has proved fruitful. But now I'm handing this challenge
on to you.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find products bearing
the name of a My Little Pony. Prizes will be awarded for the best entries.
How to enter
You can enter by several different means.

Scan the packaging of the product and mount it on a web page. Send
me the address of the web page.

Scan the packaging of the product and email
it to me. Compressed images, please - certainly no bigger than
30k or my ISP will get cross!

Email me if you don't have
a scanner - I can send you my address, and you can send me the packet
or a photocopy of the packet.
The Rules

Prizes will be awarded taking into account effort, ingenuity, appropriateness
and absurdity. Make me laugh! Make me squeal with delight!

Extra points will be awarded for pants bearing a MLP's name. This
will make me very happy. I like pants.

The MLP UK Rescue Centre's decision is final. No correspondence will
be entered into after the results are announced. The judging panel
will be announced shortly.

You have until IPD (2nd August 2001) to submit your entry.

Multiple entries are fine - in fact, they are encouraged.

Winners will be announced at some point the following week. Or fortnight
if I'm on holiday.

Prizes are non-negotiable and no cash alternative is available. The
prizes at the moment are: Two Hopscotchs, a tube of Cotton Candy
Lipsmacker, many packets of Milky Way Magic Stars and Cadburys Buttons.
As entries increase in number, I hope to extend the list of prizes.
Hey, it'd be nice if everyone was a winner!

Prizes will be announced at a later date. The number of prizes will
increase if the number of entries is high. Hey, I'm a pretty generous
person!

I'll be mounting pictures of the entries on this website. By submitting
an entry, you're letting me put it up for everyone to see. I'll assume
you're happy with this.
