The "Where Are They Now?" Contest
Well, they're finally here. The results of the competition to discover what our little equine friends have been up to since Hasbro ended production. It was hard to judge, so I brought in Ted to help me. We had a great time choosing.
The entries were fantastic. A real range of products/places was found, though there was (obviously I guess) some concentration around the sweet/biscuit market. Those ponies love their sugar boosts!
Well, here are the winners.
1st place: Baby Firefly
Jessica did so well. Not only was her entry the largest lettering (I think), she found a whole TOWN named after a pony. Good ol' Blossom. She wins a minty Hopscotch, a Cotton Candy lip balm and a packet of Milky Way Magic Stars. Well done!
2nd place: Sunbeam
We thought that Salty's line of beachside restaurants was just so wonderfully apt. Think of him sitting on the boards, chewing tobacco, before going off to shuck some oysters and stew some clams. Now that's a holiday treat I'd like. Sunbeam wins a nearly minty Hopscotch, a bar of Galaxy chocolate and a packet of Milky Way Magic Stars.
3rd place: Moonshadow (Dark Skye)
Moonshadow's cars were good, but even better were her pictures of the ponies and their comments. We liked the princess pony best. Moonshadow wins a pony t.b.a., a packet of Cadbury's Buttons and a packet of Milky Way Magic Stars.
And the following runners-up prizes were also awarded. Each gets a packet of Milky Way Magic Stars:
The Auntie Milky Weirdo Prize
Toverster gets this prize for her Cotton Candy squid bait. Sounds weird? You should see the picture. And her Waverunner jetskis were very popular too.
The So Funny It Even Made Ted Laugh Prize
This went to Wolfchick for her Night Glider and Yum Yums entries. That doll face will have us sleeping with the light on for months....
The Had To Win Something for Sheer Enthusiasm Prize
This went to Klancy, who came up with a list of prizes as long as my arm. (Ok, so my arms aren't that long but you get the idea.) Cascade and Lucky pants (yay, pants! Though of the American variety) were our favourite entries of hers.
Phew, that was fun. I will definitely be running this competition again. So keep your eyes open for products, ponies!
