Hello, I'm Emmylou and I'll be your guide around Portmeirion today.

Portmeirion is a strange little village on the North Wales coast.

It was built from 1925 to 1975 by a man who wanted to show
that you can make settlements which are in harmony with nature.

So he filled the village with things like this.
Had he been at the laudanum pipe one too many times?

Or maybe the absinthe bottle?
I mean, what's with the unicorn cuddle? That's just weird.

But anyway. It's strange, and beautiful.
And you can meet friends who'll support you through no matter what. *groan*

In the 1960s, Portmeirion was the setting for the cult TV show, "The Prisoner".
Here I am striking a 60s pose. Eat your heart out, Twiggy.

There are lots of strange men around...

Even the streetlamps and the metal railings are decorated.

You can stay in the village, but it's very exclusive. I'm off to my room - you'll have to wait here.

The weather is very changeable on the coast.
I saw a double rainbow - was it real, or was it part of the Portmeirion magic spell?

That's all - bye for now, please come back soon!
